"Part Devendra Banhart, part Damien Jurado, today’s artist, Seattle’s Bryan John Appleby, writes lush folk songs that invoke a sweet vulnerability as they draw you into his world." - Leigh Bezezekoff (KEXP Seattle, WA)

"Few have the skill with words, the deftness with arrangement and the ambition with the sonic palette that Bryan John Appleby has. Even fewer are able to deliver both their words and their music with a voice that simultaneously expresses innocence and optimism on the one hand, and weary experience on the other." - Andrew Dubber (bandcamp)

Bryan John Appleby has been working hard this year writing the follow-up to his acclaimed debut, "Fire on The Vine". Expanding his palette both as a player and a writer, Appleby has started to incorporate elements of classic songwriters, with an intense pursuit for musical and lyrical excellence. Following the release of Fire On The Vine, BJA toured with notable acts Hey Marseilles, Deep Sea Diver and The Head and The Heart. Local festival performances at Bumbershoot, Doe Bay Fest, TimberFest, Seattle Folk Fest, and KEXP's Hood to Hood have further established BJA as a northwest staple.
